Lube
Lubricant is a liquid or gel that can be applied to areas of the body to increase plaasure and remove friction during sex and masturbation - lube makes everything a little more slippery!

There are multiple types of lube that are speciallu designed for different aspects of sex. Some can even help you to geel different sensations, that contribute towards temperature play!

There is a lot of choice when it comes to lube, so this post is here to narrow it down to some key info!

Silicone-based
Silicone-based lube works well for water lovers!
  • relatively waterproof
  • silky, smooth feel left on skin
  • SO slippery, be careful if it drips onto the floor
  • not safe with silicone toys - can deteriorate the silicone
  • safe to use with condoms
  • long-lasting

Oil-based
Oil-based lube is perfect for those who hate reapplying!
  • Long-lasting
  • Can double for massage oil
  • safe to use with silicone toys
  • CAN NOT be used with latex condoms - can damange and tear latex
  • quite difficult to clean up and stain sheets
  • higher rates of infection in comparison to water-based lubes

Water-based
Water-based lube! A very common type of lube that is very versatile.
  • safe to use with silicone toys
  • safe to use with latex condoms and latex free condoms
  • usually tasteless
  • closest feeling to natural lubrication for those with vulvas
  • can be used on sensitive skin
  • easy to clean up
  • can contain glycerin

Anal lube
Anal lubricant is usually a lot thicker than everyday lube so that friction is reduced when participating in anal sex.

Anal lube can be made up of all different bases, including water-based, oil-bases and silicone bases.

Stay away from any lube advertised as 'numbing' - it is important to be aware of pain especially during anal!

Temperature lubes
Some lubes have the ability to change the body's temperature.

Warming lubes can help to increase blood flow and arouse the skin through heat sensation. Many are made with glycerin, which does not work well with sensitive skin, so check the ingredients!

Cooling lubes can produce tingling sensations and cool the skin. Ingredients often include mint or menthol to produce the cold sensation.
