There are so many wonderful sexualities to learn about! The LGBTQ+ acronym stands for many different sexual identities and is used to reference members of the queer community.
This post will try to explain as many sexual identities as possible! We have tried to include all versions of the acronym as one.
LQBTTQQIP2SAA
L = Lesbian
Female homosexual
G = Gay
Male homosexual (primarily)
B = Bisexual
Attraction to males and females
T = Transgender
Gender identity differs to assigned sex at birth
T = Transsexual
Gender identity is inconsistent or not cultually associated to assigned sex at birth
Q = Questioning
The questioning of gender, sexual identity, orientation/exploration as a whole
Q = Queer
Fluid sexual and gender minorities that are not cisgender
I = Intersex
Those born with natural variation in sex characteristics that do not fit typical male/female definition
P = Pansexual
Not limited in choice to attraction towards gender identity or biological sex
2S = Two Spirit
Gender expression stemming from Native American Indigenous individuals who see life through both male and female genders
A = Asexual
Experiencing little or no sexual attraction or desire for others
A = Ally
An individual who is a friend or ally to the LGBTQ+ community - working with the community to end oppression
